Dogwalk Podcast
First, a huge thank you to everyone who took the time to share their thoughts on the dogwalk. Sarah and I read every email, and your feedback helped shape the podcast we recorded with Mark Bills of Clip and Go Agility. Mark is the creator of the viral video showcasing the 18″ wide dogwalk, which has already garnered over 277,000 views on YouTube!
Our podcast with Mark, which runs 1 hour and 18 minutes, covered a lot of ground. We’ll continue to monitor developments and keep you updated as the conversation evolves.

To my knowledge, UKI, NADAC, and CPE have all started efforts to track trial data related to the dogwalk, focusing on a key question: how often are dogs falling off the dogwalk in trials? While this is a good starting point, it unfortunately misses the bigger picture. Most dogwalks aren’t performed in trials—they happen on practice fields.
Westminster Live
Exciting news for agility fans—the 12th Annual Masters Agility Championship at Westminster will be broadcast live this year! The finals are set to air on FOX from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. ET on Saturday, February 8, 2025, with preliminary rounds streaming live on the Westminster Kennel Club’s YouTube channel earlier in the day from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET.
This return to live coverage is a big deal. The last time the Westminster Agility Finals were aired live many years ago, I had the privilege of running in the Finals with Gitchi the Golden Retriever. It was an unforgettable experience—not just for me as a competitor but also for the spectators who followed the action in real-time. Watching the event unfold live adds much more spice to the event!
This New Year’s, I finally sat down to watch Wicked with the fam when it hit streaming, and I was completely unfamiliar with the storyline. For those who haven’t seen it, Wicked explores the untold story of the witches of Oz, with a fresh perspective on good, evil, and everything else. The movie adaptation has been split into two parts, so there’s more to come. It gets rave reviews, and we thought it was pretty good! Speaking of musicals, I finally got the family together to watch The Sound of Music. I’m happy to report that the kids loved it as much as I do, even with its old-school charm.
Not all movies age so gracefully, though. I recently thought Father of the Bride with Steve Martin and Diane Keaton would be a safe, charming family movie—one I enjoyed watching in the 90s. But Isaac, the linguistics major, was appalled by Martin Short’s over-the-top fake European accent, which he pointed out made no sense linguistically and found offensive on behalf of all Europeans. Sometimes I think the kids watch these movies not just for the story but to better understand why Sarah and I are the way we are—and to laugh at our generation’s peculiarities. They love making fun of us, but I think deep down, they enjoy the window into our lives and what shaped us. Times change, and I’m grateful they do, even if it means some of my old favorites don’t quite hold up anymore. I wonder what Isaac would think of Three Amigos?

If you’ve emailed me recently and haven’t heard back from me yet, please be patient. I’m still replying to emails and will get to yours as soon as I can. Send any comments or questions to team@baddogagility.com, and I’ll see you next week!
